About Us
Physiotherapy is a respected profession with very high level-entrance demand to training and stringent ongoing education and registration requirements. All Straight Back physiotherapists belong to the Australian Physiotherapy Association and are Physiotherapist Board (SA) certified; strict adherence to the code of ethics can be presumed. Straight Back Physiotherapists employ a range of examination modules to ensure consistency and thoroughness of approach in exhaustively hunting out the underlying cause of your pain, not just the symptoms.
Our goal is to understand each individual’s intimate and interdependent relationship between muscles, joint, nerve and motor control (brain) systems, to examine and treat and to maintain optimum health in the neuromusculoskeletal system. Straight Back Physiotherapists employ a wide range of evidence-based treatment techniques to impact your muscle/joint/nerve function and ultimately improve your posture, flexibility, spinal stability and coordination. Straight Back Physiotherapists are trained to safely manipulate if needed, but also have a wide range of other options available. This ensures the correct treatment for each individual case. If the physiotherapist considers that manipulation is an appropriate treatment for your condition, be assured that our physiotherapists employ APA guidelines for safe manipulation and will fully discuss options with you – manipulation will only be performed with your approval and informed consent. Ongoing practitioner education is critical at Straight Back Physiotherapy. We access up-to-date, evidenced-based examination and treatment from some of worlds’ leading clinicians … specifically in the areas of spinal assessment and treatment, core stability, shoulder rehabilitation, headache assessment, ultrasound diagnostics etc.
What makes Straight Back Physiotherapists unique?
We are respected by the medical profession. We work interactively and cooperatively with your doctor and other clinicians for your benefit. We’ll communicate your information where requested and authorised, in order to coordinate best care for the key person – you. We understand that knowledge is power, so our goal is to educate our patients to self-empower them to help themselves, thereby more effectively managing pain, preventing recurrence and maintaining wellness. Involve you in decision making about your treatment. Spend more one-on-one time with patients.
More treatment options … effectively treating all components of the movement system, not just joints, ie. muscle, nerve, joint and motor control systems. Employ evidence-based techniques to effectively eliminate unsafe treatment. Option for manipulative and non-manipulative treatment Effectively diagnose the underlying cause of your condition and treat you and your problem individually … rather than provide a blanket treatment for everyone and expect the same results. We treat only what needs to be treated thereby avoiding over-servicing. “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”
